Imatra sent a postcard to those who moved away
Imatra sent postcards to former residents of Imatra.
Cards were mailed to former residents of Imatra aged 25─45 living elsewhere in Finland, who have lived in the city for at least five years and moved away from Imatra between 1995 and 2015. Cards have not been sent to those who have moved to nearby municipalities.
The cards were mailed after Easter. They were sent to a total of 2087 recipients.
─ The most potential return migrants are those who already have an old relationship with the city. Now would be the time to warm up this relationship. We invited them to the Imatranajo event to experience Imatra now. The first 30 people who registered and received an invitation with avec can take part. We were positively surprised when the tickets went on the same day that the recipients received the cards, Marketing Manager of Imatra Base Camp Katri Storhammar says.
─ If the event has to be canceled this year due to corona restrictions, the arrangements will be moved to the future and we will be in touch with those who registered.

“It was just warm looks and deep friendship.
The chirping of eastern hepocatties on a summer morning at the beach of Vuoksi. The roar of Imatrankoski and the mystical walks of Kruununpuisto. And the fire of youth at the eternal festivals of life.
What is it now?
It is security and nostalgia. It's home. It's Karelian madness and hospitality, and Big Band rhythms in the soul. Finland's oldest tourist attraction and castle hotel in the middle of the city.
It is spas and unique events, and one of the top destinations of domestic tourism last summer.
It's a fisherman's and hiker's dream. As well as cheaper housing costs, better sports facilities, versatile hobby opportunities and new school centers.
And life like on vacation.
Time to change."
