Big pipe break on Sotkulammentie

On Sotlulammentie in Imatra, a big pipe break has been detected this morning. The pumping amount of water temporarily increased by 400 cubic meters per hour (the normal pumping amount is 250 cubic meters per hour), which caused an alarm at the pumping station. At the same time, water rose to the ground along the road. The leak was plugged in half an hour. The water had time to flood the yard of a few houses.

The problem was revealed at Sotkulammentie 53. The water had to be cut off at the addresses Sotkulammentie 50-63. A total of 12 detached houses were left without water. Text messages have been sent to the properties. I can supply them with household water if necessary.

- We will try to handle the repairs during this day, network master Kari Mäkelä says.

You should avoid moving on the street section, because due to the repairs, the second lane will have to be cut off from traffic for the duration of the repairs.

Sotkulammentie had a pipe break almost two weeks ago.
