The corona team of the city of Imatra decided on Thursday that from next Monday, 29.3. starting in elementary schools, a strong mask recommendation is valid from the third grade upwards. Previously, masks were worn by 12-year-olds and older.

In Lappeenranta, a mask recommendation was also given on Wednesday 1-2. classes, but Imatra considered that there is no need to extend the mask recommendation to smaller students in Imatra's situation.

Masks have already been used in school transport before. Smaller masks are available for children.

Activities in schools are being modified further to combat the epidemic.

In the future, all elementary schools will study under the guidance of their own class teacher in each subject.
