You should already switch to a new travel card, but during the ongoing transition phase, you can still use the old ones.

Since the summer, the new ticket system, which has operated alongside the old systems, will be used at ilippu.fi. In the service, you can buy tickets, manage your own and other family members' Travel Accounts, and view the movement of buses in real time.

New orange travel cards have already been distributed for half a year to, for example, schoolchildren traveling by bus and members of public transport pilot groups.

It is now hoped that bus users will exchange their old Matkahuolto cards for cards from the new ticket system.

- During the card campaign, those who use the new travel card will receive a card loaded with five free trips. A reflective case was purchased for us to use so that the stop sign displayed by the customer would be better visible in the dark. You can get the reflective protective case until the end of the card campaign on 1.3. until then, so you should use the card before then, reminds the traffic planner Kaisa Pohjola from the city of Imatra.

The travel card is free and you can get it even if you don't already have a card.

The card can be picked up from the city of Imatra's customer service at the city hall at Virastokatu 2. The school travel card will continue to include a reflective case.

Obtaining and using iLipu

iLippu is a plastic card for which the customer buys tickets himself or loads value in the ilippu.fi service. The card reader on the bus charges the trips from the card or determines the validity of the season ticket.

You must register for iLippu, which allows the customer to monitor their card's transactions, buy ticket products and manage the cards of the whole family.

Without registration, iLippu can be used in such a way that the city's customer service representative takes the payment from the customer and loads the card on his behalf. In the bus, the driver, on the other hand, charges the value loaded on the card using the card reader. On behalf of the customer, the card is loaded at the city hall's customer service if necessary.
