Corona restrictions must still be followed.

The city of Imatra opens school sports facilities for recreational use by children and young people.

The premises will be opened from next week, Monday 25.1. starting, if there are no new instructions from the national level.

Shifts may change

Some of the shifts from the Mansikkala school center will be transferred to other schools. In this way, there is room for group meetings during the corona period. In Mansikkala, usually up to six different groups of enthusiasts train at the same time.

This week we are in contact with all those clubs whose shifts or hobby places change temporarily. We also guide them about the current corona guidelines, head of welfare services Arja Kujala says.

Gyms were closed in Imatra due to the tightening of the corona situation before Christmas.

Masks, safety intervals and number of participants

Imatra, like the rest of South Karelia, is still in the acceleration phase, so all users of sports facilities are still required to follow the corona guidelines. Masks must be worn when entering the hobby facilities (12 years old and older) and safety intervals must be taken care of. You don't need to wear masks in a training situation.

The gathering restrictions also still apply to clubs and associations. A maximum of 20 people may be in the same space at a time.
