In Mansikkala, a sprinkler line broke in the school's outdoor canopy
On Tuesday around 13 p.m., a sprinkler water line burst under the cover of the Mansikkala school center's outdoor canopy.
The water line had frozen and cracked when it melted. The freezing was due to the fact that the limit values of the line's co-heating were incorrectly programmed.
The water flowed from under the lid into the ground and from there into the rainwater wells. A small amount of water also flowed to the side of the wet vestibule.
The outdoor canopy got wet, but the water damage didn't cause much problems for the interior.
The drying work has been started by an external contractor. The damage survey will be done this week and the repair work will start based on them.
YIT has promised to check all parts of the house's water systems in the next few days.
─ It is unfortunate that the implementation of the property's winter climates has been lame in this respect. YIT is responsible for all repairs and costs in accordance with the life cycle contract, the city's space and safety manager Sami Turunen says.
