Due to corona restrictions, sports schools for children and youth had to be organized in smaller groups than normal. Therefore, more instructors had to be hired than in previous years.

- In the end, we had 11 summer workers guiding sports schools and camps, accompanied by the person in charge of athletics Lauri Asikainen says.

- Without the summer work voucher, we would not have been able to hire so many young people. We have to pay them a competitive salary, which would not have been possible otherwise at this scale.

Imatra's Athletes plan to hire summer workers with the help of vouchers this year as well, as the method of operation has proven to work.

- The system is clear, functional and reasonably easy. Sure, it requires a bit of paperwork, but what wouldn't, says Asikainen.

Urpalainen also found it easy to apply for a summer work voucher.

- The form just had to be printed, filled out and given to the employer for signature. After that, it was sent to the Control Room, Urpalainen says.
