What needs to be resolved is how management responsibilities will be handled in the future in the model of one manager.

Today, Monday, the Imatra city council discussed the search for a city manager and the reform of the administrative rules in its council seminar.

The council was unanimous that in the future Imatra will operate under the model of one mayor.

Current mayor Kai Roslakka has announced that he will take annual leave next fall and retire in early 2022.

The council is of the opinion that the search for a new mayor should be started as soon as possible. The job search is launched by the city government.

As previously outlined, this council will elect a new mayor.

─ The vision was clear. We want to give the new council a clean slate and ensure that it can begin cooperation with the new leader, the chairman of the city council Niina Malm sums up the alignment.

The reform of the administrative rules will continue

The council also dealt with the reform of the administrative rules.

The preparation of the administrative rule continues. Another option would have been to leave the reform of the administrative rules to the next council.

What needs to be resolved is how management responsibilities will be handled in the future in the model of one manager. In the future, the mayor's work will be more emphasized than at present on vitality and advocacy. In the preparation of the board rule, the management responsibilities of the areas of responsibility, group services and decision preparation must be resolved.
