According to the current, available information, more vaccines are received every week, and instructions for vaccinations and appointments will be sent as soon as information on the order and quantity of the vaccines is received.

The safety and efficacy of the corona vaccine have been found to be good
Coronavirus vaccines are evaluated using the same quality, safety and effectiveness criteria as other medicines. Medicines authorities only grant a marketing authorization to vaccines that have evidence of both efficacy and safety shown in studies. (THL). The effectiveness of the administered coronavirus vaccines has been found to be good.
With the help of the nursing staff's voluntary corona vaccines, it is possible to protect the social and health care staff themselves, the staff's close circle, as well as customers and patients. This ensures the functionality of social and health care.
According to current information, corona vaccines will be introduced gradually during 2021. The distribution of vaccines in South Karelia is proceeding in accordance with official instructions.
Vaccination does not remove the importance of protection. Regardless of the vaccination, the given protection instructions must be followed, e.g. regarding hand hygiene, use of face shields and meeting restrictions.
