This is not an official quarantine, but a precaution taken by the city.

A high school student at the co-educational high school has possibly been exposed to the corona virus. As a precautionary measure, all high school students (joint high school, IB and Eastern Finland school high school) and teachers will be transferred to distance learning for the rest of the week.

Such an extensive precaution was taken because in upper secondary school teaching takes place in a course format and different age groups inevitably meet each other in teaching groups, the head of welfare services Arja Kujala says.

The exposed person has already been tested. At the moment, it may take longer than a day to get the test results, which is why the distance learning was planned to last for the rest of the week.

The high school informs more about teaching arrangements through Wilma as needed. Unfortunately, it is not possible to organize meals for the distance education for the rest of the week with such short notice.

If you have symptoms suggestive of a respiratory infection, stay at home and follow Eksote's operating instructions. You can find contact information and operating instructions  Exote from the pages.

Now it is not a quarantine imposed by Eksote, but a precautionary measure implemented by the city of Imatra. There have been two school quarantines in the city of Imatra due to corona. One was implemented at the beginning of November at Mansikkala middle school and the other at Vuoksenniska school center last week.

None of those who participated in the quarantine in Mansikkala got sick, the last day of the quarantine in Vuoksenniska is tomorrow 19.11. Vuoksenniska has also not had further infections.

The city of Imatra will provide more information when it is known whether there is a need for a continuation of the precautionary measure.
