The initiative to serve a snack came from the students of Koske school.

In November–December 2020, Imatra's school centers will experiment with serving snacks for a fee. The price of one snack portion is 2 euros.

A snack is served in school canteens in the afternoons. It includes bread, cold cuts and a fresh slice. In addition, fruit, kiissel or curds are also available.

Students can redeem their snack for a ticket. Tickets are sold in bundles of ten at the city hall information desk.

-Furthermore, the snacks can also be paid for in the online bank, in which case the student receives his ticket against a receipt from the snack distribution point, space and safety manager Sami Turunen says.

Detailed instructions for online payment can be found on the website of Saimaa Support Services from this link.

The distribution of snack tickets will start in Imatra after the autumn holidays, and snacks will be offered during the first week of November.

Students who need it for health reasons are still entitled to a free snack. You can ask the principal of your school for more information about the criteria for awarding a free snack.

The snack distribution started with the initiative of Koski schoolchildren

The autumn snack distribution is an experiment that started with the initiative of the 6th graders of Koski school.

Originally, the testing of the snack service was supposed to be organized last spring, but Korona postponed the experiment until this fall.

After the experiment, a survey is organized for the students about their willingness to continue.

- If there is a demand for snack distribution, it can be made a permanent practice, says Turunen.

Chairman of the City Council Niina Malm and chairman of the city council Anna Helminen tell about the decision in a video filmed last December in this link.
