In the summer of 2020, Imatranajo will be held virtually for the first time. The public can also participate in the program of the main event on August 1.8. On the edge of the rapids.

Imatranajo 2020 will be held virtually. During July, three competitions will be held online, and on Saturday 1.8. A final event open to the public will be held at Koskenparta.

The competitions are run with the MotoGP 20 game either via PlayStation or PC, in the finals the competition is on the back of motorcycle simulators. The six best riders in the preliminary series are invited to Imatra to ride for victory on a simulator based on a real motorcycle. In the final, Imatra's street track is simulated using the Ride 3 game. The graphics of the final game are an exact copy of the real track. The prizes for the best drivers in the final competition include VIP tickets to the Imatranajo 2021 event, a ride on a two-seater racing bike on the Imatra street track, and weekend tickets to the 2021 Imatranajo.

- Our event has received a lot of encouraging feedback. Virtual driving is challenging, and in the final the situation changes even more, when the bike tilts and the view opens up from the cockpit. The drivers in the qualifiers have mostly been seasoned players, says Imatranajo Martti Solja.

The last race will be held on Monday, July 20.7, and even though new competitors can no longer aim for positions, they can still drive if they want to (contact information at the end of the story). The PlayStation group competes at 18 p.m. and the PC group at 20 p.m.

Imatranajo event for the whole family

In the actual final event, the audience also gets to try Imatra's street track from the simulator. The event and the competitions will be streamed online with commentary and narration. You can follow the competitions on the Motorclub Imatra YouTube channel and Imatranajo on Facebook.

The free Imatranajo final event offers a program for the whole family; simulator driving, retro motorsport games, 3D drawing and Popeda songs performed by the Rokkikone band. There are also tube players, such as A rose flower, who has nearly 55 followers on YouTube. The event is organized taking into account the corona guidelines.

The whole event is crowned by a motorcycle parade on the Imatra street track, ending at the pedestrian mall, led by IRRC driver Erno Kostamo. At the event, a prize bike will also be handed over to the winner of the scooter race organized by Imatranajo.

- A new, developed motorcycle simulator will be put on the performance stage. The public can also compete with rally and formula simulators. There is a great event coming up, and there will probably be plenty of people on the move, Solja hopes.

There will also be prizes for the winners of public competitions, such as a 400-degree video camera with VR function worth 360 euros.

The event is organized by Imatranajo, Imatran Motor Club Trailblazers, LUT University, SaimaanVirta, Lappeenranta Pelikonemuseo, DirtyRacing, Finnish Virtual Reality Association and talkoväki.
