Water samples were taken from Hallikkaanjoki in Meltola due to an overflow at the Päivärinteenkatu wastewater pumping station.

Based on the samples taken from two places on Monday, the water is suitable for swimming. The bacteria in the water were found to be at normal levels.

Due to a malfunction of the pumping station, an estimated 500 cubic meters of untreated wastewater was discharged into the Hallikkaanjoki over the weekend.
