Market life is lively already on Tuesdays, but on Fridays, Vuoksenniska reaches the actual peak hours.

On a Tuesday morning, the stalls of Vuoksenniska Market are filled with customers at a steady pace. The coffee kiosk tables are full - this is a meeting place for people from Imatra and people from other places. The market has vendors on Tuesdays and Fridays from May to December.

Market-goers buy peas and berries at Rasimus farm's stall. Sellers Aino Öhman ja Venla Klemola have been busy this summer as well.

- The life of the Vuoksenniska market is lively, and the number of customers clearly increases on Fridays. There haven't been many quiet days, says Öhman.

In addition to local visitors, people from out of town also enjoy the atmosphere of Imatra's summer market. Helsinki Pasi Niskanen and born in Imatra Pirkko Niskanen stop by Vuoksenniska market and Imatra shops to shop from their cottage in Savonlinna.

- We are now collecting the first peas of the summer. There are good markets here, especially in Vuoksenniska and the country market in Mansikkala, says Pasi Niskanen.

The customer seats of Hellu's coffee and snack cart are constantly full, but according to the employees, the flow of customers on Tuesday cannot be compared to busy Fridays.

- Friday is a significantly busier day at the market. Many go for coffee regularly, both in Vuoksenniska and in Imatranko, an entrepreneur who started a coffee cart operation in 2011 Helena Toiviainen says.

You can buy coffee, pastries and salty bread from Hellu's coffee and snack cart. Next to the actual kiosk wagon, brick soles are baked. Taavi Toiviainen bakes popular buns to order from customers.

- I do all the work of the coffee cart, and this letun frying is my job. On market days, we arrive on site at six in the morning. It's quieter early in the morning, but the rush hour, especially on Fridays, starts around XNUMX:XNUMX in the countries, Taavi explains.

- We have been at our cottage in Virmutjoki since March, but we often go here for coffee to meet friends, Marjut says.

Many regular customers enjoy the summer day and of fillings. They are even taken to take home.

- I'm taking a blanket from here for my cat, Kai Tukainen retorts.

Pertti, Just ja Sipu have also come to enjoy lettu coffees, as they usually do once or twice in the summer.

- Tori is an absolute socializing and meeting place. It seems that some of them almost have their own seats here, Sipu says with a laugh.
