Eksote informs: increase non-urgent activity with caution

The customer receives instructions for arriving at the reception by phone.

In many services of the South Karelia Social and Health District (Eksote), a controlled and careful restoration of non-urgent activities, which were partially shut down, has started. Activities are increased within the limits of possibilities and in all areas: rehabilitation, family and social services, hospital services and outpatient health care.

Along with increasing non-urgent operations, Eksote's operations are being organized in a new way. This may affect the arrival of customers at the healthcare office. The customer receives instructions for arriving at the reception by phone. You can't come directly to receptions, but you always have to call first so that a treatment or service need assessment can be made, based on which the customer will receive action instructions. On weekdays, call your own welfare or health center, and in the evenings, on weekends and on public holidays, you must call the emergency number 116 117. In an emergency, call 112.

- We will have to live with the corona situation for a very long time and we will organize our operations in the way it requires. Of course, we don't want to increase unnecessary queues, but the pandemic has not yet been resolved, and both our personnel and protective resources are limited. We cannot speed up all non-urgent activities, but carefully considered and partially, says the director of health and elderly services Tuula Karhula.

For example, group functions in Eksote will not be started for the time being. Well-functioning remote services and telephone receptions are still offered where applicable.

Avoiding all unnecessary physical close contact will continue to be important and restrictions on gatherings of more than 10 people should be followed, even though the infectious disease situation in the South Karelia region is currently calm. Gatherings of large crowds are where the wider spread starts.

More tests have been done on the Eksotte than THL says

There are coronavirus tests in the Eksote area on 30.4. by taken 1347 times. At the moment, however, the corona map of the Institute of Health and Welfare (THL) shows a clearly lower reading. The difference is explained by the fact that Eksoten's figures also include samples taken in Terveystalo's occupational health care, i.e. all Eksoten's tested employees.

The table on Eksoten's corona website shows the number of tests taken in the South Karelia region and confirmed coronavirus infections. More than 9.4 days have already passed since the previous positive test result (April 20).

Hospital district-specific infection rates are automatically updated in THL's map application after a delay of about two days.
