From the Entrepreneurs of the Imatra Region, a list of ways to deal with the crisis caused by the corona.

The Entrepreneurs of the Imatra Region demand that the city strives by all means to tackle the loss of vitality caused by the corona crisis. The entrepreneurs' wish is the so-called creating an emergency aid package to support the business life of the area.

In connection with this, the city invited the representatives of the entrepreneur association to a meeting on Thursday, where ways were mapped together with the city's companies. Yrittäjäyhdistys brought to the meeting its own list (see the list attached to the announcement) of the actions that should be taken now.

─ Now you have to act immediately and not be left behind, entrepreneur Emilio Urpalainen demands.

The list of entrepreneurs will be discussed next Monday at the meeting of the chairmen of the city council. Measures related to the allocation of funds are decided by the city government and the city's subsidiary boards and executive management (sections 2 and 3 of the appendix). Proposals are also discussed in the management group of the city group.

─ I think the discussion was good and the proposals were concrete, mayor Kaisa Heino says.

Even before Thursday's meeting, measures have been initiated that correspond to points 4-6 of the entrepreneurs' list, i.e. payment times for entrepreneurs' invoices, entrepreneurs' rents and the payment of the city's purchase invoices. The payment times for entrepreneurs' rents are considered on a case-by-case basis with each entrepreneur separately.

The city is also investigating procurements that could be implemented faster than planned (point 1). and direct them to local entrepreneurs. There will be an active dialogue with entrepreneurs about this.

The entrepreneurs also hoped for assistance for Imatra families due to the collapse of income.

─ This would be a food purchase card for the families of both entrepreneurs and other Imatra residents who need emergency aid. The quantity would be 2000 pieces and the value would be 50 euros each. A total of 100 euros is needed, half of which will be collected as donations from companies and communities and half from the city of Imatra, chairman of the Imatra Regional Entrepreneurs Markus Sainio open the proposal.

This proposal is one of the issues to be addressed by the city government.

The proposals of the Entrepreneurs of the Imatran Region for the city as means of emergency aid

  1. All future acquisitions by the city of Imatra must be re-examined. Procurements should be brought forward as far as possible. Include a genuine market dialogue with local operators so that local companies can meet the eligibility requirements. Obligation to report on measures taken to the Entrepreneurs of the Imatra Region. In addition to this, the city's other purchases should be increased for 2020, emphasis on local services and products.
  2. New service vouchers for the purchase of home-delivered services. One banknote with a value of 20 euros will be distributed to every household in Imatra. A simple solution that eliminates unnecessary bureaucracy. The services offered at home can be anything, for example barber's home visits, shopping visits, foot care, other home help). A company from Imatra (or the Imatra region) qualifies as a service provider.
  3. Imatran Lämpö and Imatran water grant temporary price reductions of 20 percent to all city residents. In this way, local purchasing power and thus consumption is increased, which supports the local business life.
  4. A payment period without late payment interest for all municipal receivables (including city companies).
  5. Mitra and the city of Imatra will not collect rents for two months from communities in Imatra whose operations are significantly affected by the current emergency situation. Such tenants include, for example, restaurants, cafes, shops and other small and medium-sized companies and associations.
  6. The payment terms for the purchase invoices of the city of Imatra and group companies will be changed so that the invoices are paid as soon as they have been approved. As a result of the change, billers will receive capital much faster than at present. In addition, it is proposed to extend the payment period for all invoices of the city of Imatra and the city's group companies immediately to 60 days.
