With the Heili card, you can go to the library on your own even in the evenings and on weekends

The opening hours of Imatra's libraries and museums will change from the beginning of the year. Even though the service time of libraries is getting shorter, independence is being developed and an increasing part of the materials is available via the network at any time.

- Now is the time for everyone to get their own PIN code for the Heili card from the library, which opens the doors to electronic materials and local libraries even outside of service hours. With the Heili card, you can do business in all libraries in South Karelia as well as in the joint online library of the region, says the team manager of library and museum services Marja Huuhtanen

The opening hours of the main library will change so that the library is open from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 18 p.m. The actual service time is between 11 a.m. and 18 p.m., when the staff is serving customers as before.

The library doors open as early as 9 o'clock, and there you can do business on a self-service basis, i.e. use the facilities, equipment and materials, borrow materials from machines, return loans, read magazines and search for information independently.

The main library's wider independence is planned, but at the moment there are no preparations for it yet.

Ticket sale continues in the main library according to service hours, i.e. tickets from Ticketmaster can be bought on weekdays between 11:18 and XNUMX:XNUMX.
The culture house in Virra is located city museum and art museum will be closed on weekends in the future. Like the main library, they are open on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 18 p.m.

In local libraries In Vuoksenniska and Rapapatsa, the service time will be reduced to four days a week. On their own, libraries are open every day, including weekends and public holidays, between 7 a.m. and 21 p.m.

In the local libraries, you can pick up the reserved material on your own, in the main library it will be available during the early spring.

When returning material through Lukuku, it must be noted that the loan is processed and the return is registered only during service hours, when the staff is present. The main library's return hatch can only be used when the library is closed.

- The library can be used in many ways. I hope customers will find the books, magazines and movies we offer online, but also have a good time in the libraries relaxing, meeting each other, learning and doing hobbies, continues Huuhtanen.

The nearest self-service libraries in the Imatra neighborhood can be found in Ruokolahti and Korvenkylä.
