Olympic medalist Juhani Suutarinen donated his awards to the city of Imatra

Among other things, you can admire the silver medals from Sapporo and Innsbruck.

Olympic medalist and world champion Juhani Suutarinen donated most of his awards and medals to the city of Imatra on Thursday 21.11.

In the showcase of the sports hall's lobby, there are now several shelf meters of national and international biathlon legend's awards for all the people to admire.

─ I still have quite a few of them at home, Suutarinen laughed.

Among the most valuable prizes on display are the biathlon relay silver medals from the Sapporo 1972 and Innsbruck 1976 Olympics.

The welfare service manager gave a speech at the awards ceremony Arja Kujala.

─ Juhani has achieved in his career what many young people training in this sports house dream of. I hope that seeing such awards will give more faith to young promises, as well as the investments made by the city in sports. After all, we have a wonderful biathlon stadium here for future winners.

Kujala promised that the prizes will be well taken care of.

The awards were received by the current Finnish shooting sports star, from Imatra Venla Lehtonen together with the mayor I guess Roslakan with.
