Ensilumenlatu opens in Imatra in Ukonniemi tomorrow, Saturday

At Imatra in Ukonniemi, the track opens up to a length of five kilometers and it is made of the snow that was taken into custody last winter. The track profile has been made suitable for both competitive and fitness athletes, i.e. there are easier sections for fitness skiers and more demanding sections for active skiers. The track is accessible from both the Imatra Spa and the Ukonniemi Stadium. The stadium also has 30 shooting positions for biathletes covered in snow. The track is illuminated every day between 06:00 and 22:00. 

The trail also opened last fall with the same dimensions and attracted several foreign and Finnish ski camp groups to Ukonniemi. Also this year, several foreign ski camp groups are coming during the fall.
 
- Already today, Friday, the first campers are coming from Estonia. More campers are expected later in the fall, for example significant biathlon teams are coming from Belarus. In addition, negotiations are underway with a couple of other foreign teams, says CEO Jukka Aallikko of Imatra Base Camp Oy.  

- There are also more skiing and biathlon groups coming from Finland than in previous years, and the number of individual and family tourists is clearly increasing, continues Aallikko.

The first slopes in Kontiolahti and Vuokatti opened last week.  

Opening

The opening of the track will be celebrated from 10 o'clock, when the mayor Kai Roslakka will open the track. The program also includes children's skiing competitions and during the opening you can try shooting with eco and gunpowder guns. You can get help with lubrication and equipment selection from Saimaa Sport's ski equipment doctor, coffee, juice, bun and sausage from the Imatra Athletes' canteen.

Skiing on the first-snow pistes is free of charge on the opening day, and the advance offer for season tickets is €70 (norm. €80) valid until Sunday 22.10 October. until.
