The need to balance the economy is 5,2 million euros. Adjustments to operations, including changes in the personnel structure, should achieve savings of at least 1,6 million euros.

The city government of Imatra has decided today, Tuesday, September 10.9. immediately initiates the adjustment measures required to balance the city's economy and the comprehensive reform of the service structure, which also includes the necessary measures regarding the personnel structure.

─In this economic situation, we have to use all means, chairman of the city board Anna Helminen says.

The cooperation negotiations regarding the entire city's personnel, which are necessary for the implementation of the adjustments described above, will be started immediately.
The need to balance the economy is 5,2 million euros. Adjustments to operations, including changes to the personnel structure, should achieve savings of at least 2020 million euros for the budget year 1,6.
─ Adaptation measures concerning personnel may include part-time work, layoffs, dismissals and other changes in the service relationship, so that the adjustment measures may lead to the termination of the permanent employment relationship of a maximum of 40 people, city manager Kai Roslakka says.

When renewing service structures, development projects previously initiated by the city government and other possibilities for reorganizing operations and services are taken into account.

In addition, the city government requires that a group-level overall review be launched at the same time and instructs its group companies to implement adjustment measures based on the group-level review. This includes an update of the city group's development program for various properties, which must be submitted to the city board for confirmation by October 7.10.2019, XNUMX.

These solutions will not be easy, but the city government is sure that the measures are now necessary, says Helminen.
─ Despite scarcer resources, the goal should be to implement more efficiently and effectively than currently, especially measures that support the strengthening of the city's vitality, deputy city manager Kaisa Heino highlight.
