The new school property is put into use. Many head to Niska Mäki for the first time, when schoolchildren from Virasoja and Kaukopää start studying there. There are also new children in the kindergarten.

The holiday is still a few days away, but it's already good to review the practices for both the school and the kindergarten.

Of the three school centers in the city, Vuoksenniska is now the first to start school in the renovated premises. Classes from kindergarten to ninth grade and early childhood education operate on the same school hill.

What's new? Read tips for Vuoksenniska's first days of school and kindergarten here:

Nursery

  • The new name of the daycare center is 1.8. starting with the Vuoksenniska kindergarten, which is also responsible for preschool education in the Vuoksenniska area. The name Virasoja daycare center is no longer used. Rautio's daycare center remains independent, although Vuoksenniska and Rautio have a common daycare manager, Annikka Saarikoski.
  • During the summer, Vuoksenniska's daycare center has been under renovation due to renovations. Among other things, the kindergarten's kitchen has been renovated. The children and caregivers have been evacuated in Rautio. They return to their own kindergarten on August 5.8.
  • A new group of children under 3 years old is starting at Vuoksenniska kindergarten. The facilities have been renovated during the summer to meet the needs of smaller children.
  • The 3─5-year-old group comes to Vuoksenniska with children from the day care center. In the day care center near Honkaharju (Vuoksenniska day care center) there will be no day group members in the future, but only those who need day care.
  • The eskars are all day in the school's new premises (morning care and afternoon).
  • Escort traffic for eskares takes place primarily through Havrinne. If the family has other siblings in the kindergarten, you can bring all the children in the family through the kindergarten yard. Also, the eschars must always be brought inside by the guardian. The entrance of the cadets takes place through the door of the Silmu cell of the new school property. (signs in the yard). The functionality of the travel arrangements will be monitored and developed as necessary during the fall.
  • The new kindergarten has 56 places, 8-10 staff members.
  • Getting to know Eskars and parents in the new premises 7.8. at 10-11 / eskari starts on August 8.8. at 8.30:XNUMX am.

School

  • The students will work in cells of about 55 students, which have three teaching rooms and a small group room. If necessary, these spaces can be opened into a single space with the help of transfer walls.
  • Eskari, 1st and 2nd classes are studying on the ground floor of the new building. The upper floor is reserved for third and fourth grade students. Grades 5-9 work in other buildings.
  • The properties are designated as AE buildings. The new property is E. Päiväkoti D-building.
  • Schoolchildren can go via Vuoksenniskantie or Havrinte.
  • The new class divisions will be introduced in classes 1-5 and seniors. The class divisions were made in cooperation with the teachers. The change was made because we wanted equal-sized and pedagogically functioning groups.
  • In the older property, the roof renovation will continue during the fall semester. Some of the classes continue in the old library's spare rooms
  • The renovation of Rönkäntie affects school trips. Work to improve traffic safety has been carried out in the vicinity of the school during the summer.
  • The semester starts on August 8.8. at 9 All elementary and middle school students gather in the school yard, from where the teachers pick up their groups.

Happy semester to everyone, young and old!
