The main performer of the Imatra day is the Dark Ride Brothers

Saturday 24.8. The celebrated Imatra day culminates in an evening concert in Koskenpartaa, when a band from Imatra takes the stage as the main performer. Dark Ride Brothers. The band released their latest album, Join The Ride, in April 2019.

The Finnish-German band is founded in Imatra by Sven Langbein ja Vesa Winbergin by about five years ago. The music is internationally valid pop-rock-country; the band will do a 13-show tour in Germany and Switzerland in the summer. Dark Ride Brothers has been on tour in Germany before, and this time they will be on the road for a close two weeks.

Guitarist-singer Langbein is excited about summer:

- The tour will be intense, as there is a gig almost every day. Fortunately, we have really professional staff with us, and of course the big Dark Ride family on site. The concerts in Germany have a unique atmosphere, and I couldn't wait to perform there.

- Pictures of concert tickets are even shared on social media, Langbein describes the enthusiasm of the international fan base.

The number of plays of the band's own songs also speaks for success: a song called Jetplane has collected more than 128 listens on the streaming service Spotify.

In the summer, the Dark Ride Brothers return to their hometown to entertain Imatra Day attendees. Imatra day is the culmination of summer, an event for the entire nation.

- It's super cool to be able to call the great Imatra Dark Ride family after the German tour, who have been strongly involved in our journey from the beginning. When you look back, the pace keeps increasing, the gigs get bigger and the trips get longer, but every now and then we return to the Koskenparta stage, Imatra - and every time we have more stories to tell our home audience and a backpack of new surprises with us, Langbein describes.

- I moved to Imatra from Germany seven years ago after falling in love with this place - and it has definitely become a second home. It's going to be a great summer in the sense that DRB and I will be performing in Germany, Switzerland, Finland and Italy for the first time in both of my hometowns. It feels wonderful that we were invited to the Imatra day on top of everything else. It's one of the most important days of the year for this city, says Langbein.
