The city of Imatra organized an open discussion and information session about the future of early childhood education today, Wednesday evening, at the city hall.

Six different models were presented at the event, from which one will be chosen. The alternatives take a stand on where and how many kindergartens the city would have in the future. Options on the roles of municipal and private service production are also included.

options was presented on the city's website for the first time on 28.5.

Service network reform project manager Mari Routti said at the event that based on the revised child number forecasts and the negotiation result of the country's government program, it would seem that options E and F are getting the strongest role in the official preparation of the last few days, because at this stage they have been assessed as the least risky from the point of view of farm capacity in the long term. Option F would especially be favored by the fact that it would be better than option E in terms of conversion flexibility. The government program also includes entries related to the activities of private early childhood education service providers, the possible effects of which are not yet known.

It is political decision-makers who make the decision to cut down the alternatives.

Now the city hopes for the widest possible exchange of opinions on the various options. You can leave your opinion via an online survey. All six models are included in the online survey. The online survey has been opened and you can answer it on 14.6. until.

─ Now the townspeople and staff have a genuine opportunity to express their opinions about the different options by means of a survey, encourages the head of early childhood education services Minna Leinonen.

The subject will be discussed in the Welfare Board on 18.6. The board will give its opinion on the alternatives to the city government in August.

The presentation material for Wednesday's discussion will be published on Thursday, June 6.6. on the website of the city's service network reform.
