The options were presented to the staff at the end of May, an open discussion session for parents on June 5.6.

Now is the time to find out what kind of daycare network will be created for Imatra in the future. The guidelines will be a continuation of the school network reform.

Different options will be presented to the welfare board on June 18.6. The board will give its opinion on the alternatives to the city government in August.

There are six options for the future early childhood education service network, from which the decision-makers choose one. The options are presented in a table attached to this article.

─ When doing alternative studies, we took into account the possibility that part of the early childhood education would be provided by a private entity, from which parents could use a service voucher to buy early childhood education for their child. The surveys have also been guided by forecasts of the decrease in the number of children and the useful lives of properties as well as investment needs, the head of early childhood education services Minna Leinonen says.

The opinions of parents and staff are asked

It has already been outlined that in the future, round-the-clock care will be concentrated in Mansikkala from Vuoksenniska and Mikonpuisto. It will be located in the premises of the new school center. All options also include the fact that the Steiner kindergarten will continue to operate in the city.

Elucidation of the cost effects of the alternatives is still in progress. The calculations will be completed by the board's June hearing.

The alternatives will be evaluated before the board's August meeting, in addition to functional and qualitative effects, as well as preliminary and child effects. Statements are requested from several different parties.

─ For example, parents are asked for their opinion. The city organizes 5.6. at 18 p.m. in the council hall of the open residents' bridge for everyone who wants to influence the reform of the early childhood education service network. The material presented in the evening will be published on the website after the discussion evening,  project manager Mari Routti says.

The comments of the townspeople given on the residents' bridge are recorded. You can also express your opinion about the service network options by answering the survey, which opens on the city's website on June 6.6. The survey is open for a week.

The personnel were told about the options at the end of May. Statements have been requested from the personnel. The welfare and education services cooperation committee has already heard the alternatives on Thursday, May 23.5.

─ Now we really hope for views on different options, Leinonen encourages to influence.
