The indoor air surveys of the Mansikkala daycare center were completed
Strawberry fish the premises of the daycare center were investigated in spring winter, because it was suspected that a few children had symptoms due to the indoor air. There have been fewer than ten suspected symptoms.
The facilities were examined by the external research company Raklamit Oy. The study focused on three conditions where symptoms occurred. The symptoms that occurred pointed to chemical compounds (VOC). In addition, just to be sure, air samples were also tested for microbial concentrations.
The research samples did not reveal a reason for the symptoms, as the results did not exceed the reference values, neither for VOC values nor for microbial concentrations.
To be safe, the old plastic bellows walls will be removed today, Friday. In addition, the skylight's surroundings are examined with structural openings. Material samples from the outer walls are also taken from the same premises. These additional tests will be carried out next week.
If the child has symptoms and the guardian suspects that the indoor air in the daycare center is the cause, the daycare staff and health care must be contacted.

The necessary repair work will start on June 3.6. and they are completed during the summer, depending on the drying time. If necessary, the Mintut group at the daycare center will move to temporary premises at the Imatrankoski school premises during the repair work.
On Tuesday, a foggy, small leak from a surface water pipe was noticed in the toilets of the Mintut group at Mikonpuisto kindergarten. As a result, the background wall behind the leak has become wet.
Currently, the water damage does not cause any changes in the kindergarten. The damage site is delimited so that harmful substances cannot enter the room air from the moisture spot.
