Tree felling works in the area of the Koski school center on the weekend
The trees will be cut down next to the future modules of the Koski school center on Saturday and Sunday. Forestry work is done at the end of the school's sports field, right after the field.
─ Tree removal may be delayed until the beginning of the week, developer Ari Lattu from Mitra tells.
Movement in the construction site area is prohibited for outsiders.
Earthmoving works will start after Easter. It will be announced separately.
The modules will be erected in the summer.
What is special about Koski's module procurement is that this time the school premises are rented for several years. The rental period starts in 2019 and ends in 2031.
The modules are delivered in two batches. Next autumn, the modules of the city of Imatra will be put into use. The next delivery will be in 2021, when the share of the Eastern Finland school will come.
The supplier of the modules was tendered in February. The final negotiations regarding the lease terms have yet to take place with a possible supplier, so the selection will be announced as soon as the negotiations receive the final seal.
Martela is the furniture supplier
The furniture for the modules will be supplied by Martela Oy, the winner of the bulk furniture competition. The competition was carried out in the so-called as a French contract where the price is determined in advance. The purchase value of the loose furniture is 120 euros.
─ Of the four offers received, the quality, functionality, multi-purpose and adaptability of the loose furniture were evaluated, space and safety manager Sami Turunen says.
