An area similar to a business park is being planned for Korvenkanta. The planning area is currently reserved for large trade units in the plan.

The planning area is located on the west side of Juuliankatu and on both sides of the undeveloped Tiedonkatu along Kuutosti.

─ The formula will start on February 17. At that time, we will publish the participation and evaluation plan. We will add other information to the city's website as the project progresses, city planning manager Ulla Karjalainen says.

An announcement will be published separately when the draft plan is available for viewing.

After the plan, Mitra Imatra Rakennuttaja Oy will be responsible for the development of the area. Managing director Lassi Nurmi considers the idea of ​​changing the purpose of use of the area good.

─ Field markets no longer exist today. We hope that the store will focus on Imatrankoski and Mansikkala in the future. We lack well-located industrial plots or business areas. The Korvenkanna area meets this need well, says Nurmi.

The business park concept is currently being developed.
