Construction at Imatra in 2018

The main focus of construction in 2018 was school and service building construction. A significant completed construction site was a residential office building and parking garage built in Imatrankoski,

Fewer permits were issued for new apartments than in the previous year. 9 single-family house permits were issued, compared to 17 the previous year. Terraced house construction is under construction in Karhumäki. Last year, no new residential apartment building permits were granted, except for apartments in service buildings.

In industrial construction, the main focus was on Stora Enson Oyj's projects.

The amount of renovations and other changes as well as smaller-scale construction was almost at the same level as the previous year. There were 245 (257) issued building and operation permits. Of the issued permits, 25% (28%) were new construction and expansion permits and 75% (72%) were renovation, operation and demolition permits. New and expansion permits were granted for 183 m763 (3 m94) in volume and 681 m3 (31 m830) in floor area.
