Kokukellonkuja will come to Koski

Last fall, suggestions for the name of the new alley were requested from children studying at Koski School Center. The alley comes to the side of the school.

There were several proposals. Many classes were inspired to come up with ideas. The names connected principally to school and nature.

─ We chose the proposal of the 3rd grade of the Eastern Finland school as the winner. The alley was named Koulukellonkuja. I think it's a particularly good name, because it doesn't exist anywhere else in Finland, at least based on a web search, planning architect Julia Virkkala praises.

The new alley will be formed as an extension of Sulkukuja at the end towards the school. Sulkukuja, which has single-family houses, will keep its old name. There will be a light traffic lane between Koulukellonkuja and Sulkukuja.

The new alley is one part area plan change, which will be considered by the city council next Monday.

The plan change area is located along Kanavakatu. The change area includes the areas of Koske school and Koske joint high school, a parking area, a special area and part of the Kanavapuisto area.

The purpose of the site plan change is to enable the implementation of a functional school solution in the area of Imatra's third school center.
