On August 1.8.2017, XNUMX, Imatra's labor college and music college merged into the city's common Virta college. The college offers high-quality teaching services for the basic teaching of music, visual arts and handicrafts, as well as a versatile range of courses from different teaching areas.

Virta-opisto is an educational institution run by the city of Imatra, which offers versatile study and hobby opportunities for people of all ages. At Virta-opisto, children and young people can study in a music college, art and craft schools. The study is part of the basic art education, which follows the national curriculum principles.

The courses of the Norwegian University of Technology are open to everyone. The college also has joint groups such as the Vuoksi Big Band, a ukulele ensemble and a children's choir, where you can study either as a student of a music college or a labor college.

As a rule, the teaching facilities of the Tyveonopisti and visual arts and crafts schools can still be found in Tainiotalo, and the facilities of the music academy in Kulttuuritalo Virra.
