The people of JHL, the union of public and welfare sectors, will be on strike next Monday and Tuesday, October 22-23.10.

- On Monday, we try to keep the swimming hall open as usual, but on Tuesday the swimming hall is closed. The sports hall is open both days as usual, welfare service manager Arja Kujala says.

The strike has no effect on the operation of other sports venues, because industrial action measures do not extend to them.

Kindergartens open as usual

Schools are on fall vacation next week, so the strike will not affect them.

Kindergartens are open as usual, but of Saimaa Support Services The staff of the Mansikkala and Vuoksenniska regional kitchens are on strike. Because of this, the food supply is limited in Mansikkala, Imatrankoski, Mikonpuisto and Meltola daycare centers and in the Imatrankoski group family daycare center.

- Families can bring lunch, which is heated by the staff in the microwave, head of early childhood education Minna Leinonen says.

The strike does not affect all kindergartens. Food services operate almost normally in Rauti, Virasoja, Rajapatsa and Tainionkoski daycare centers, as well as in Vuoksenniska daycare center and Sienimäki group family daycare center.
