Imatra's stormwater guide was distributed to households in July.

The aim of the guide is to increase residents' awareness of stormwater management, flood risk preparedness, and property-specific stormwater solutions.

After distributing the guide, the city has received contacts and inquiries about solutions and liability issues related to stormwater management.

— The guide has clearly found its place, as we have received questions related to the topic. Many residents have noticed that the missing end of the drum at the plot junction needs to be dug up or the ditch cleaned so that the water flow is not blocked, says the city's maintenance engineer. Stormwater guide

The stormwater guide has been implemented as a partial implementation by the City of Imatra. Adapting to climate change in South Karelia with the project (SopEK). It is an ERDF project managed by LAB University of Applied Sciences and financed by the Häme Economic Development, Transport and Environment Centre, currently the South-Eastern Finland Vitality Centre. The project is co-financed by the European Union.
