Building control provides information on current issues

The building inspectorate supplements the list of designers and reminds you of the need to make appointments and the notification procedures related to changes in heating systems.

We are looking for designers and foremen for the design team.

The Building Inspectorate maintains a list of designers, which is made available to clients planning construction upon request. The list is used in situations where a trained designer or supervisor, such as a structural engineer, architect or construction manager, is needed for the project.

– Currently, there are only a limited number of new operators on the list, and a significant number of current designers will be leaving the workforce in the coming years. Therefore, the list will be supplemented with new designers and supervisors, says the inspection engineer of the City of Imatra Viivi Avelin.

Those wishing to be on the list of designers are asked to submit their information to the building supervision email address building controlimatra.fi (building control[at]imatra[dot]fi) .

The notification must include at least:

company name and contact information
The name of the person
training
description of the design projects (for example, single-family homes, renovations or larger projects)

Making an appointment for construction supervision

The holiday season is currently in full swing, which is why staff are not always available without an appointment.

Notification of change in heating mode

The building inspectorate also reminds that if the heating method of a residential building changes, for example when abandoning oil heating, the change must be reported to the building inspectorate.
