The new building code proposal for the City of Imatra has been published

The Building Control Department of the City of Imatra has published a new building regulation proposal on June 18, 2026. The proposal will be publicly available for 30 days. 

The building regulations proposal can be viewed at the Imatra Building Control Office (Tainionkoskentie 14, open Mon–Thu 9 am–15 pm) and on the city's website.

Municipal residents and other stakeholders can submit their opinions on the proposal no later than July 20, 2026. The opinion can be submitted by email to registryimatra.fi (kirjaamo[at]imatra[dot]fi) or by mail to the address City of Imatra, Tainionkoskentie 14, 55100 Imatra. 

– The new Building Act (751/2023) entered into force on 1 January 2025 and obliges municipalities to renew their building regulations to comply with the law by 2027. The building regulations may include regulations based on local conditions regarding construction, consideration of cultural and natural values, and the creation and preservation of a good living environment, says the building supervision manager of the City of Imatra.
