Cracks are being patched in the water tank of the Tuulikalli water tower
The Tuulikallio water tower will be repaired in the coming days. The target of the patch is the tower's water tank, which has developed hairline cracks over the years.
—The tank is leaking from several places. The previous renovation was done in the early 2000s, and now it's time to patch the cracks, water supply manager Kari Pietarinen says.
The tank was emptied of water about a week ago and since then it has been dried with the help of chips, among other things. The patching work is estimated to last a good week.
The renovation of the water tower will not cause disruption to the municipality, as the reservoir of the old Tuulikallio water tower has been used for the duration of the renovation. The old water tower is located inside the water tower that is now being renovated.
