The beaches have now been dived and found to be safe. A new pier was installed in Lempukka in the spring, and a clothes changing maze was installed on Rauti beach.

The beaches of Ukonniemi, Lempukka, Immalanliette and Rauti will be officially opened for swimmers on Friday, June 10.6.

The beaches have been cleaned during the spring and early summer and the buildings have been improved. A new pier has been installed in Lempukka and a clothes changing maze has been built on Rauti beach to replace the changing booths that were dismantled last fall.

The safety of coastal waters has been checked by diving.

— Dangerous objects have been removed from the bases. For example, there were iron bars left on the beach of Rauti following last autumn's destruction of the pier, which have now been removed, sports center master Jani Niittynen Imatra's real estate and regional service Kipa says.

The beaches are open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 20 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 20 p.m. During opening hours, the lockable lockers on the beaches are open and rescue boats are available.

— We would like beach users to remember that lifeboats are only intended for rescue use. So they are not on the beaches for pleasure rowing, Niittynen reminds.

There are no lifeguards on the beaches.

The temperature of the swimming waters is measured on Thursdays. The latest information can be found on the city's website from this link.
