What kind of nature relationship do you have? Among other things, this was discussed at Imatra on 9.3. participants of the nature dialogue held. The theme of the dialogue organized by the city of Imatra and the Eräpöhinää project was how the future wilderness and nature culture museum can strengthen the relationship with nature. The interlocutors were seven people from South Karelia of different ages and backgrounds.

At Imatra, among other things, the importance of nature for human well-being was discussed. Many of the interviewees felt that they calmed down and/or refreshed themselves by nature. Natural gifts such as berries and mushrooms were also important to many. Loss of nature, climate change and the loss of diversity were worrying, but there was also hope. Among other things, through restoration, the environment modified by man can be returned back to its natural state or close to it.

The use of digital technology brought an interesting perspective to the discussion. A virtual environment can be an opportunity for nature experiences even for those who, for example, due to exercise or other limitations, cannot go out into nature even if they wanted to.

In the nature dialogues that took place in different parts of Finland, discussions were conducted using the Erätauko method. A batch break is a way to have a constructive discussion, a dialogue where we learn to understand different perspectives and think together. In Imatra's nature dialogue, this was realized nicely, the interlocutors gave space to each other and to different opinions and thoughts.

The main thing I remembered was that there is hope and that the future Wilderness and Nature Culture Museum can in the future serve as a strengthener of various relationships with nature.

The discussion at Imatra was part of the national nature dialogue day organized by Sitra. During the day, dozens of discussions took place in different parts of Finland about the importance of nature and the preservation of natural diversity. The goal of the discussions was to understand Finns' diverse relationships with nature. A summary of the dialogues is used by Sitra The nature-wise Finland 2035 vision work with.

Sitra's announcement on April 1.4.2022, XNUMX: On the great nature dialogue day 9.3. more than a hundred constructive nature discussions were organized in dozens of locations across the country.
