Cooperation with Russia has been cut off.

The city of Imatra supports Ukraine 25 612 with a euro, i.e. a euro per Imatra resident. Support for those living in the midst of war is directed equally through Unicef, the Save the Children association and the Finnish Red Cross. The city government made a support decision on Monday.

The city of Imatra has also decided to end its cooperation with Russia. The cooperation has already been given up last week.

The office holders gave the city government a report on all actions related to the crisis in Ukraine. Among other things, the city has revised its contingency plan and crisis communication instructions.

The city informs about disruptions and how to prepare for them on its own website at imatra.fi/hairiotilanne. These pages will be updated and supplemented with additional instructions, should a larger crisis situation threaten the citizens of the city.

Preparation is always important, but we also hope that we all now strive to create a safe everyday life for children and young people, director of services Arja Kujala says.

The city of Imatra hopes that those who live in the city and speak Russian as their mother tongue will not be subjected to inappropriate behavior or hate speech.
