Imatra's tax rate is not being increased

The city government proposes to the council that the tax rate remains unchanged, i.e. at 20 percent. This is currently the lowest tax rate in the province. At the level of the kingdom, tax rates vary from 17 percent in Kauniainen to 23,5 percent in Halsua.

The Imatra city government continued to consider next year's budget on Monday and Tuesday. The city government has stated that this year the budget must be balanced.

─ Like last year, making the budget is so difficult that predictions about municipal funding coming from the state live on a daily basis, One day our budget looks like a deficit and the next a surplus, chairman of the city board Anna Helminen says.

The increase in Social Security expenses by 5,3 million euros

In the preparation of the city's budget, provision has been made for the fact that, for example, health and social services expenses will increase again next year by 5,3 million euros for Imatra.

The third and last budget hearing of the City Council is on October 26.10.

In the last hearing, the board will discuss, among other things, the city's investments for next year and will finally outline its views on the city's grants. In the last reading, the government also discussed the renewal of the city's vitality work.

─ This means that the city directs its resources in such a way that we can improve the acquisition of new companies and employers to our city, says Helminen.

The council will discuss next year's budget on November 9.11.
