Imatra begins to investigate the construction of a wooden sports hall in connection with the ice rink in Ukonniemi.

The Ministry of the Environment has granted a discretionary state grant to Imatra for the design of a wooden sports hall. The application for assistance was submitted by the city's subsidiary Imatran Toimitilat Oy.
The size of the grant for planning is a maximum of 70 percent of the realized total costs of the project, however a maximum of 44 euros. 
 The evaluation group of the ministry considered that the wooden sports hall is a good development project. 
─ Assembly buildings are important public buildings and their construction from wood is welcome. The project produces concrete guidelines and a set of indicators that can also be used in other projects across municipal borders, the decision states.
Imatra begins to investigate the construction of a wooden sports hall in connection with the ice rink in Ukonniemi. In its budget proposal, the city government presents this planning money for next year.
