Imatra is starting to apply for growth companies in droves. The Mioni strategy has been created for that, under which both Mioni Industrial Park ja Mioni Startup Campus.

The purpose of these is to create a new, very practical way to attract technology companies to the locality.

─ We want to offer entrepreneurs customized construction, financing, property maintenance and consulting services, CEO of Mitra Lassi Nurmi says.

The entrepreneur is supported to make the start-up as easy as possible. You can get advice on, for example, labor availability.

Mitra and Imatran Seudun Kehitysyhtiö (Kehy) are responsible for services to entrepreneurs. Support is provided by the networks of these companies.

Mioni Industrial Park

Yrityspuisto offers customized offices flexibly for both technology companies and international industry.

The business park is divided into two different areas in Imatra: Korvenkanta next to Kuutosti and Pelkola near the border station.

─ In Korvenkanna, the formula is already being worked on, in Pelkola, the formula can be modified according to the needs of the future operator, Nurmi says.

Mioni Industrial Park offers companies a business park where sustainable development and carbon neutrality are core goals, for example in energy production. This is Finland's first carbon-neutral business park.

The business park is based on the idea of low operating costs and the location advantage between two big cities, Helsinki and St. Petersburg.

─ Now we start looking for an anchor customer for Mioni Industrial Park, says Nurmi.

Mioni Startup Campus

Mioni Startup Campus, a member of the Mioni family, will be the first to launch. It will be located in the Mansikkala area. One option is Linnala school.

─ We have examined the premises. The school property can be repaired. It must be remembered that the property was never required to be demolished from the authorities. The recommendation of the indoor air working group was that it is not advisable to do the repair when there are users in the premises, Nurmi states.

Start-up entrepreneurs and employees are offered apartments from Pilkuja's student apartments, which will be underutilized due to the transfer of the university of applied sciences.

All start-up technology companies are welcome as tenants at Mioni Startup Campus. Based on the preliminary survey, there could be interest in such a business campus, especially in Russia.

─ There is already an agreement with one Russian start-up company. It is located in Imatra during the summer. Numerous inquiries have come from Russia. We will go to St. Petersburg to tell about Imatra's new opportunities next time on April 25.4, Nurmi says.
