The change has already become a curse word for many. So be it, but the fact is that the flow of change takes time. In the past ten years, communication has also taken quite a leap of change. Information led by an authority has moved to communication, where communication belongs to everyone.

Each of us has become a medium. We can comment on the world without paid platforms that have certain publishing criteria. Of course, this has caused confusion about what is the other side of freedom, i.e. responsibility.

Municipalities have also been forced to shift from informing themselves to interactive communication. Höpinäjargon is no longer played.

Imatra renewed its brand a little over a year ago to orange. Orange energy has also been applied to communication. In accordance with the new municipal law, our main channel is the website, where we are the first to publish matters concerning the city.

In this regard, we are doing quite well, the number of visitors is imatra.fi-pages grew by an average of 10 percent per year, up to 35 percent in the best months. A big thank you goes to the development of our own news coverage and the website renewal, for which we received good tips from the townspeople. Advance surveys helped to find a new direction.

The growth rate is also going up in the city's social media. Facebook we already have 5593 followers, while in 2014 there were 961 followers. During the last year, the number of followers has grown rapidly. And what's best, the publications are also commented on. Thank you.

Also at Instagram we do very well in the municipal comparison by measuring the number of followers. Also on Twitter we are in good spirits YouTube without forgetting. You just have to think about what and how to share on different channels.

Now we want to further develop the quality of communication. We know that there is never too much communication or it doesn't reach for some reason. It can sometimes be the case that communication is not nice if one's own opinion is contradictory. In this case, you have to think about ways to make participation better even before decisions have been made.

In order to be able to develop our communication and think about which channels we are followed, we made a survey. We hope that you will answer it via the attached link or with a paper form, which can be obtained from libraries and the customer service of the town hall. The response time is 28.9. until.

Link to survey from here.

One more thing. We haven't forgotten about more traditional communication. Residents' magazine will be published at the end of this week in every home in Imatra. Its main theme this time is Imatra and sustainable development. The magazine can also be read from the end of the week on the imatra.fi website.
