Mansikkala school and Imatra joint high school moved to other premises due to bad indoor air

The city of Imatra has decided to move school from Mansikkala school to other facilities as quickly as possible due to indoor air problems. School work in both middle school and high school will continue in emergency rooms from the beginning of the autumn semester 2016 at the latest. An indoor air survey was conducted for the staff and students of Mansikkala middle school and high school during February 2016. The final report of the survey has not been completed yet, preliminary results have been obtained from the survey. Based on the preliminary data provided by indoor air scientist Tuula Putus, indoor air disadvantages are generally experienced in the property. Symptoms, infectious diseases and absenteeism linked to indoor air are higher than usual among those who responded to the survey.

The indoor air working group has discussed preliminary results at its meeting on March 3.3.2016, 2016 and made a unanimous decision to close the school.
