Combine music and high school

The Culture Academy offers students who aim to be passionate about music the opportunity to combine high school and music studies.

At Virta-opisto's music school, those studying a broad curriculum of art can choose the KAM study courses of the Academy of Culture (there are three courses on the tray). At the beginning of the school year, the student completes the HOPS with his or her music teacher, in which case it is ensured that the content of the study periods is followed during the studies of the school year and that the correct number of study points is accumulated at the end of the school year.

The high school music teacher, in cooperation with the students, chooses one high school event during the academic year, where the student will perform either alone and/or as part of an ensemble. At the end of the study period, we go over the form with the help of self-evaluations and with the music teacher, how the school year has met the goals.

The high school student informs the study counselors of the high school about choosing the KAM study course, and the high school passes the information on to the music college.
