The schedule for Meltola's entire area renovation will be accelerated by a year

In June, the urban development board approved a proposal to amend the investment program, with which the remaining allocation from other sites will be transferred to the Meltola regional renovation. Thus, Meltola will have one more new contract area for implementation in the fall.

 — This is intended to speed up the entire area renovation of Meltola by a year, traffic engineer Aino Vuopio says.

According to the original plan, the entirety of Meltola's regional renovation was to end in 2027.

— GRK has been chosen as the contractor for the renovation of Rekikatu, Lampsiinkatu and Kelkkakuja. The works will start at the end of August. The exact time will be announced separately before the work starts, says the local supervisor Konsta Toikka From Mitra.

This summer, renovation work has been underway in Meltola's Valjaskatu and Sompakatu.
