Sports Academy

At the South Karelia Sports Academy, athletes study at local educational institutions and train at the sports academy.

In all of Imatra's secondary education institutions, students have the opportunity to participate in sports academy activities, which allows athletes to practice goal-oriented while studying. There are morning exercises three mornings a week.

Applications are made to the sports academy in the spring of the 9th grade of elementary school. First, you apply to the joint upper secondary school following the normal application procedure and fill it out at the same time application to the sports academy. You can also apply to high school in the middle of the school year, if your high school place of study is elsewhere and you move to Imatra. The average mark is 7,0 and there are 120 starting places.

The sports academy's coordinator is Elina Sinisalo (elina.sinisaloateklu.fi (elina[dot]sinisalo[at]eklu[dot]fi))
