The Salo–Issaka area is located in the southern part of Imatra, about 10 km from Imatrankoski. The village activity area includes Näträmälä, Hallikkala, Räikkölä, Salo-Issakka and Kiurula in Imatra and Kuurmanpohja in Joutseno. The area borders on the Russian border in the east. There are many companies in the area of just over 400 inhabitants. You can get help from your own village for almost everything: log carving, snow plowing and construction work, accounting, cleaning and handicrafts. The village association has made a service list of companies and services.
Living conditions have been improved by the water cooperative. The most famous of the attractions in the area is Vallinkoski in Hallikkala, whose natural beauty and untouched nature attracted many tourists to the village 100 years ago. Besides Vallinkoski, the most beautiful scenery in the village is the view from Vierinnanmäki to the mouth of Hallikkaanjoki and the scenery of the Ilvespirti nature trail. In addition to the village association, VPK, a hunting club, Martas, a country club and a sports club operate in the area. The Vpk's house serves as a gathering place for the villagers. In the summer, volleyball is played on the rink in the village. In winter, the rink is skated and the track network is in active use.
