Newspapers and magazines are ordered at all library locations. With the exception of the latest issue, magazines can be borrowed at home. The loan period is two weeks. Newspapers cannot be borrowed.
The library also offers customers electronic journals. ePress service newspapers can only be read in the library. eMagz service magazines can also be read outside the library when you log in with your library card.
Leaf storage
Ordered domestic magazines and magazines in foreign languages are usually stored in the magazine reading room for + 1 year. Some of the magazines, for example Kästyölehtet and magazines in the field of technology, will be moved to the magazine warehouse of the main library for longer-term storage. You can see the available magazines from the stock list or from the online library. You can also always ask the staff.
Subscribed newspapers are generally kept for the current + 1 month, local newspapers (Uutisvuoksi, Ylä-Vuoksi and Imatralainen) permanently.
Microfilmed magazines
The main library has microfilmed Ylä-Vuokset from 1927–1983. Other microfilmed newspapers are available for interlibrary loan. The microfilm reader can be found in the main library in the Imatra room.
