The goal of noise control is to protect people from health and comfort hazards caused by noise. Environmental legislation guides the means by which noise in the human environment can be influenced. This is most effectively done by guiding the planning of new areas and functions in such a way that the occurrence of noise nuisances can be prevented in advance.
A written report in accordance with Section 118 of the Environmental Protection Act must be submitted to the municipality's environmental protection authority for temporary activities or events that cause particularly disturbing noise or vibration. The environmental department of the Imatra region conducts environmental noise measurements at the request of the planner, other municipalities, industrial plants and other operators. Noise measurements are chargeable. You can inquire about them from environmental protection planner Riikka Litmanen on 020 617 4301.
