The goal of the site plan change is to enable the construction of new power lines and landscape poles from the west bank of the Imatrankoski rapids via Ivoniemi to the power plant area of Fortum Oyj, as well as the construction of a new substation with power line portals to the south of the current switch yard. The planning takes into account the location of the area in the middle of a nationally significant built environment.
